Materials science is a highly interdisciplinary field including Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Medicine and Engineering. It is related to many of the grand challenges facing modern society developing and exploring new materials and processes for wellbeing Society. Grand Challenges depend mostly on breakthrough developments in materials science.
« Materials for the Future » Global Alliance includes competences developed at UNESP and international partners in four major areas: Photonics, Energy, Health and Environment. It aims to strengthen collaboration in research, teaching and community service activities, focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN). The breadth of expertise at UNESP catalyzes connections between the different fields. The Alliance will make it easier to bring disciplines together as materials research evolves over time in response to new ideas and industry and society needs.
