Biodiversity Across Ecosystems

The students embarked on a series of case studies that represented marine, aquatic, and terrestrial systems, and learned how to formulate research that addressed contemporary issues in biodiversity science, such as planning appropriate sampling procedures and successfully writing research proposals.

The students participated in a virtual classroom to work in teams with partners from universities in Brazil, the United States, and Mexico, as part of a global learning experience that resulted in an international network of students, researchers, and educators.

As a final project, the students had the opportunity to learn how to write competitive proposals for various funding agencies in different countries with the guidance of the faculty.
